No, you will be emailed a receipt for your purchase to visit and this will act as your “tickets”.

A child less than 2yrs of age does not need a ticket.

Once you are a season pass holder, you do not need to make any reservations for Sundays for up to 1 year; you can just come anytime between 10am-2pm!

Yes, our tickets in California are time-entry based. Please make a reservation based on the the available time-entry slots and arrive at that time.
Yes! We will have volunteers stationed all over the property to help you give treats to our horses, brush our cows, hold our chickens, give our pigs tummy rubs, and play with our goats and sheep. They will personally introduce you to all our animals and share their stories of rescue and recovery.

We have a snack shop open with plenty of snacks, drinks and a hotdog vendor with plant-based hotdogs available for purchase.
Yes, as long as the food/drinks are free of meat, dairy, poultry or fish.
Any food that can be fed to the animals during your visit will be available for purchase or provided for you. You are welcome to donate fruit and leave it with us at the front entrance and we will be sure the animals get your treats during the week!
It all depends on the weather and time of year, but we ensure that all areas, including the animal enclosures are not overcrowded, so that the animals and visitors are not overwhelmed.
To be considered as a volunteer, we ask that you first come on a Sunday as a visitor when we're open to the public and ask to speak with the volunteer coordinator.
You won't start volunteering that day, but we will follow up to schedule an interview.
We currently do not have any other days to come in to start the application process, so you would need to come in on a Sunday first to sign up.
Our minimum age to volunteer is 14 years old.
All our new volunteers who are under 18 years old can only volunteer on Sundays and it’s a 9:30am-3pm shift. If you are 18 and over, then we do have volunteering opportunities in our office during the week. If you are wanting to volunteer with our animals during the week, we require training with us in advance.
You do not need any prior experience to volunteer in the office or on Sundays during our public hours.
If you are volunteering on a Sunday then there is no prior training involved. If you are wanting to volunteer during the week in the barnyard or with our horses, we require that you train with us at least 4 consecutive Sundays and 4 additional weeks of training during the week before you are given a shift. In order to be considered for a shift during the week after your training is complete, we ask for a once-a-week commitment for at least a year after training.
Unfortunately, we do not have any on-site accommodations, however, there are local hotels down the road from us or in Valencia, CA.
Yes, if you can commit to intern with us for a month or more, then you may be a good fit for our internship program. We have you fill out an emailed application, interview you in person or via Zoom, and if it all works out you can intern with us for a month or more at any of our three locations. Please contact us with your request and we'll get you started!

You are welcome to bring your group on any Sunday. There is no limit to the amount of kids and adults is only subject to the public tickets availability.

You will also get to brush our cows, feed our horses carrots, give our pig's belly rubs, pet the goats, hold the chickens and give hugs to our beautiful cows! It is an experience unlike any other.
For either option, we have a large, shaded picnic area with plenty of tables. You are welcome to bring your own food, however, out of respect to the animals we ask that you do not bring any dairy products, meat, poultry or fish. In either case, it will be very hands-on with the animals and a great experience for all!

The first step in volunteering with us is to come visit on a Sunday while we are open to the public. While you are here for your visit ask to speak with our volunteer coordinator and we can provide you with more details.
The minimum age requirement for a volunteer is 14 years old.
We have volunteer shifts every day of the week from 8am-12pm, and on Sundays from 10am-2pm. We also offer opportunities to assist with field trips and birthday parties in the mornings and afternoons. Volunteers who wish to work Sunday through Friday are required to make a weekly commitment. Volunteers under 18 years old may only work on Sundays from 10am-2pm.
We take the role of caring for our many animal residents and our sanctuary grounds very seriously. It is for this reason that much training goes into preparing our regular weekly volunteers for their roles. No experience is required, but a love for animals and the willingness to listen and learn is a must.
We offer two different types of tours.
2-Hour VIP Private Tour:
For a $400 donation you can take a VIP Private tour and have the barnyard to yourself. You can bring up to 20 people or come by yourself and have all the animals to yourself

All Day VIP Private Tour:
For a $1,000 donation, you can come for a VIP All Day Tour with up to 5 guests. You will get an intimate VIP experience as we share the history of The Gentle Barn, personally introduce you to all of our animals, and share their stories of rescue and recovery.
Our All Day VIP private tours are held on Saturdays and Wednesdays only, from 8am -2pm.
Spend the morning helping us feed the chickens and turkeys, brush the horses, feeding snacks to the pigs and getting the back-story from us of why and how The Gentle Barn got started. Then you will have lunch with us as well.
After lunch you will come back to the barn for one last round of cuddles and time in our gift shop. It will be an amazing day!

We ask for a $10 donation per child with a $200 minimum with a 20 child maximum ($10 per child over 20) and we max out at 25 kids. You can bring as many chaperones/parents as needed with no extra charge.

We offer private parties as well on Saturdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11am-1pm.
We ask for a $400 donation for private parties and max out at 25 guests per group.

Yes, you can show your emailed receipt for your Season Pass purchase at the front entrance when you arrive. Once you become a season pass holder, you do not need to make a reservation to visit during our public hours for either of our locations.
You can do this by visiting our selecting "Animals" from our main navigation. From there, you can choose which animal you would like to sponsor. Each animal has a sponsorship amount, which is indicated when you click on the sponsorship button.
When we receive a sponsorship donation, a packet is sent out with a certificate of sponsorship, so you will receive yours shortly after that!
Once a sponsorship is set up, you will be charged on the same day each month (the day you set up the sponsorship). This will be an ongoing charge for the life of the animal or until you decide to cancel it.
Yes, you may make a one time animal sponsorship within each animals sponsorship section. This will be a one time non-recurring payment for the amount of that animals sponsorship x12 month for the year.
